On the 10th of December 2nd years, 5th years, and Green Schools participated in a Bushy Park Litter pick up as a part of Mitzvah Week, to give back to our community. We collected multiple bags of litter, with some exciting finds including an abandoned trolley and a bike!

This week in school we are marking Anti-Bullying Week alongside Mitzvah Week, with the shared theme “The Power to Do Good.” Throughout the week, students will take part in activities and discussions that promote kindness, respect, inclusion and positive action.
As part of this focus, we are delighted to share with you our new Bí Cineálta (Be Kind) Anti-Bullying Policy, which reflects our commitment to creating a safe, supportive and inclusive school environment for all students. On Friday 28th November, the 6th Year Computer Science students visited Google HQ to attend an event called 'Mind the Gap'. Over 300 students from schools all over Dublin attended it to hear about different roles and career paths in technology from a variety of Google engineers.

Throughout late November the TYs were very involved with all things Law, battled with the rain as they played Padel and attended a Virtual Climate Action workshop. And all the while the TYs were busy making final arrangements before going on their first week of work experience (1st - 5th December)

On a cloudy Thursday morning (27th November), the 3rd years adventured into Rathfarnham’s Ely’s Arch to perform their own production of Shakespeare’s ‘Julius Caesar’ around 400 years after it was first staged. Following our study of the play, the 3rd years got to engage in some active learning and bring ancient Rome to us.

As the Winter Exams approach from 1st -5th December students, staff and households are busy preparing. Teachers are mindful of the anxiety around exams and are preparing students with Study Plans as well as some or more of the following supports such as sample questions and answers, marking schemes, exemplars of best practice for example, depending on subjects and year groups.

Senior students of French along with Drama, Theatre & Film Studies students attended this years' French film festival in the IFI on Monday evening. Students and teachers watched the film 'La venue de l'avenir' (Colours of Time), directed by Cédric Klapisch.
